By the time he graduated in 1963, Thomas Kenney proved to be one of the top runners in Fordham's long and storied history. Some of his innumerable highlights include setting a meet record in the four-mile relay at the 69th annual Penn Relays. Running the anchor leg in a blazing 4:04.9, he helped the Rams finish in 16:42.7, obliterating the previous record by almost 30 seconds. In the 1962-63 indoor season, the relay ran the fastest time ever notched in Madison Square Garden, was invited to the LA Coliseum Relays, and finished third in the Penn relays. They also captured the Metropolitan Championships in 1963. Kenney was named Athlete of the Year by The Ram in 1963 and garnered MVP honors at the Block F Dinner that same year.
