Mission Statement
Fordham University Strength & Conditioning is committed to providing each individual student-athlete with the most appropriate exercise regimen to prepare them for collegiate athletics.  Through the implementation of properly prescribed strength, power, plyometric, speed, endurance, and flexibility exercises we can induce positive gains in holistic wellness, overall fitness and resistance to injury as it pertains to sport.  The Strength & Conditioning program at Fordham University aims to train student-athletes to gain a better understanding of perseverance, commitment, mental and physical toughness, discipline, leadership, and the skills required to overcome a wide variety of challenges.

Expectations:
  • Be On Time
    • This means fully ready to participate at the time of designated training
    • Be sure to allot sufficient time for treatment prior to training as well as make all necessary contacts for new injuries on the day that they occur
  • Wear Proper & Appropriate Attire
    • No other college/university gear
  • No Headphones or Cell Phones on Weight Room Floor
  • No Gum
  • Store Bags, Equipment, Personal Belongings in Cubbies
  • No Hats, Beanies, Headgear, other unnecessary accessories
  • No Sitting During Workouts or Yawning
  • No Self-made Adjustments to Program without ATC or S&C Coach Prescription
  • Be sure all cards are signed by S&C Coach wherever indicated
  • No Entry into the S&C Office without permission, this includes for sound system.
  • Never say “I CAN’T”
  • Respect the staff, your fellow peers, and the facility
  • Do not remove equipment from the Varsity Weight Room without permission
  • Be sure room is properly maintained and equipment is returned to designated areas
 
*Failure to comply with the aforementioned rules will result in consequences at the discretion of the Strength & Conditioning staff.

Internship Opportunities

Along with getting Fordham student-athletes stronger and faster, Fordham Strength & Conditioning does offer internship opportunities each year.

Fordham University (Division-I FCS) Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns.  The internship will last for a semester.  Interns will gain practical experience working and coaching in a Division 1 S&C environment with 22 Varsity sports and possible future recommendations.

Minimum requirements include being a hardworking, passionate, detail orientated individual, and has the desire to learn about and possibly work in the field of strength and conditioning.  Responsibilities will include: Daily maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all training sessions, and assisting in the coaching of those sessions.  Learn and assist with the implementation of Catapult GPS/ Polar Heart Rate technology and data entry. This is an UNPAID position. No monetary compensation, meals, or housing will be provided.
