Fordham Athletics works hand-in-hand with Fordham University’s Counseling & Psychological Services to best assist our student-athletes.

- Former 4-year NCAA DI Softball student-athlete at Bucknell University

- Was a college softball coach, most recently on staff with the University of Tennessee before joining SportStrata

- Amanda will be on campus more frequently for individual sessions in-person but can also conduct sessions virtually.

John Brutzman
Graduate Counseling Intern for Fordham Athletics

- John Brutzman is a graduate student at Fordham University studying Social Work with an emphasis on crisis and resilience.

- Originally from New Jersey, John served 6 Years in the Army as an Infantryman with the 86th IBCT with one deployment to the Middle East.

- John has worked with Service Members, Veterans, Students with disabilities, and is looking forward to working with Athletes.

- John believes that student athletes face unique challenges and he hopes to bring a positive impact to Fordham Athletics and to the Fordham Community. 

- In his free time he enjoys Boxing, Chess, College Football 25/Madden, exploring New York City and Northern New Jersey, and spending time with friends and family. 

 

FORDHAM CONNECT
Fordham Connect is a group created by Fordham student-athletes that aims to erase the stigma around vulnerability and mental health in sport.  Connect will create a safe space where student athletes can engage in open conversation about issues that affect them, creating a healthier environment within Fordham Athletics.

Personal Branding
In 2020, Fordham began a partnership with renowned brand expert, Jeremy Darlow
  • Darlow is a leading brand consultant and former director of marketing for Adidas. He’s also the author of Athletes are Brands too and Brands Win Championships. 
  • Darlow will provide each student with a simple, step-by-step guide to building their brand including how to recognize and grow their influence, target and identify their potential audience, and develop strong communication platforms.
