Dr. Sander was a key member of the Fordham track and cross country teams while a student at Rose Hill, being named the cross country MVP as a senior. Since his graduation, Sander has had a remarkable running career. A world-class runner at the master level, Sander won the 1974 New York City, New Orleans, and Yonkers Marathons. He finished fourth in the 1975 Classic Marathon in Greece, and was a member of the 1976 Millrose team, the first American squad in 100 years to win the 53 mile London to Brighton race.
