Thomas Leary served as a team captain for the 1925 and 1926 football teams.
A top defender on the 1925 team, Fordham went 8-1 with five shutouts and allowed seven points or less in three other contests. The team added two more shutouts in the 1926 season. Leary ccored the lone touchdown in a 7-3 win over CCNY and a 7-7 tie with Holy Cross during the 1926 season.
Leary also captained the 1926-27 men's basketball team and was a defensive star, holding opposing players to just seven field goals all year.
