Hall of Fame
If any one deserved the title of Mr. Fordham Sports, it was the late, legendary Jack Coffey. The silver-thatched baseball mentor for the Rams for 40 springs, he once described his varied playing career as "peregrinations to points provincial." All told, he was associated with Fordham as a baseball player, baseball coach, freshmen football coach, Graduate Manager of Athletics, and Graduate Manager of Athletics Emeritus for 61 of his 78 years. He is a member of the College Baseball Hall of Fame and Helm's Hall of Fame.
