Francis "Frank" Slater was a member of the Fordham track & field team from 1936-39, serving as team captain in 1939.

He was the 1939 IC4A champion in the 1000-yard event.  Slater was also the 1938 U.S. indoor champion in the 1,000-meters (2:29.3).
