Brad Howland, a 1988 Fordham College graduate with a degree in Psychology, was a noted long-ball hitter for the baseball Rams in the 1980’s.

Howland first set the school single-season home run record as a junior in 1987 with 11 and then reset the record the following year with 12.  He graduated as the career record-holder in home runs with 30 as well as doubles (33), RBI (125) and total bases (307).  He also set school single-season records in doubles (16) and walks (53).

A three-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) First Team All-Conference pick, Howland also earned New York State All-Star honors for three straight years (1986-88).  He was selected to the 1987 ECAC All-Tournament Team as he led the Rams to the 1987 ECAC title and on to the NCAA Northeast Regional, Fordham’s first appearance in the NCAA championship tournament.  In the regional the Rams defeated Georgia and Dartmouth in the first two games before dropping the next two.
