Sara Kinney, who received a degree in Political Science from the Fordham College at Rose Hill in 2007 and a master's degree in Election and Campaign Management in 2009 from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, graduated as the most successful pitcher in Fordham softball history, leading the Rams to four Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances and two A-10 championship games.

Over her four years with the softball squad, Kinney helped Fordham to a 149-83 record, with the Rams winning 35 or more games each season along with the 2005 Atlantic 10 Regular Season title, the first for a women's sport at Fordham.

As a freshman in 2004, Kinney was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and to the A-10 All-Championship team while the following year, she garnered 2005 Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year accolades as well as being name First Team All-Conference and Second Team NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region.

In 2006 and 2007, Kinney earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors.

Kinney was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week eight times and Rookie of the Week four times in her career.

Kinney graduated with the school career records in appearances (163), games started (121), complete games (70), wins (75), inning pitched (770), strikeouts (680), shutouts (18) and saves (15). She set the single game strikeout mark three times in her career, the last coming in 2007 when she struck out 14 versus Dayton.
