While earning a degree in marketing, Jim Manhardt proved to be a great scorer for the Maroon, becoming the ninth Ram cager to net 1000 points. Of his 1147 points, ranking him 12th on Fordham's all-time list, Manhardt scored 501 during his sophomore season. For his high-scoring performances, the sophomore sensation earned All-Met honors. After winning only ten games in 1961-62, the Rams rebounded to 18-8 in Manhardt's junior year, posting wins over Boston College, St. John's and NYU.
