Mark Porcaro, a 2004 Fordham College at Rose Hill graduate, was one of the top 400m runners in Fordham history and was the first Ram to win an Atlantic 10 title.
A 14-time Atlantic 10 Championship scorer, 12-time Metropolitan Conference Championship scorer and ten-time IC4A qualifier, Porcaro won the 400m at the 2002 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship to earn First Team All-Conference honors and become the first Fordham runner to win an event at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
Porcaro placed second in the indoor 400m at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championships to earn Second Team All-Conference accolades and then won the event at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Outdoor 400m Championship to again earn First Team All-Conference accolades.
Porcaro, who earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors with the 4x400 relay twice, capped his career with a third place showing in the 400m at the 2004 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships. He received the Terence J. O’Donnell Award at the 2004 Block F Awards Dinner and was the inaugural recipient of the Atlantic 10 Sporting Award.
Porcaro, a four-time team MVP who ran the anchor leg on the second fastest 4x400 in Fordham history, still holds the Fordham 400m indoor record with a time of 48.11.
