After graduating from Fordham Prep, where he played four years on the golf team, Barney Lanigan chose to attend Fordham University.
The Wales (Great Britain) native soon found there was no golf team on the Rose Hill campus, so he started one in 1930.
Initially as player/coach, he was a three-year team captain of the Rams and finished his four seasons on the links undefeated, matching his four-year unbeaten string at Fordham Prep.
