Hall of Fame
A 2009 graduate of Fordham College at Rose Hill, Matt DiBuono was a highly accomplished thrower with the Fordham track and field squad, winning five Atlantic 10 Championship titles.
DiBuono started his career by being named 2006 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Meet as a freshman, taking gold in the 35 lb. weight at the indoor championships to earn First Team All-A-10 honors.
During his sophomore year, DiBuono placed second in the 35 lb. weight at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship to earn Second Team All-Conference honors, while also placing third in the shot. Outdoors, he won the hammer throw competition at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship to earn First Team All-Conference honors, while also placing fifth in the shot.
DiBuono, who placed second in the 35 lb. weight at the 2008 Atlantic 10 indoor championships to earn Second Team All-A-10 honors and capped his junior year by finishing 16th in hammer throw at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Regionals. Prior to that, he finished seventh in the event at the IC4A Outdoor Championships and won the hammer throw competition at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship to earn First Team All-Conference accolades, while also placing sixth in the discus and eighth in the shot. DiBuono also won the hammer and discus events at the 2008 Metropolitan Outdoor Championship, while also placing second in the shot, to earn Athlete of the Meet honors.
As a senior in 2009, DiBuono won the 35 lb. weight throw at the Atlantic 10 indoor championships to earn First Team All-Conference honors, while also placing fourth in the shot. He also took second in both the 35 lb. weight and shot at the 2009 Metropolitan Indoor Championships and placed third in the 35 lb. weight throw at the 2009 IC4A Indoor Championship.
Outdoors as a senior, DiBuono won the hammer, discus and shot at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championship to earn Athlete of the Meet honors. He also won the hammer throw in the College Championship at the 2009 Penn Relays and placed third in the hammer at the 2009 IC4A Outdoor Championship and 14th at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships. At the Atlantic 10 Championships, DiBuono won the hammer throw to earn First Team All-Conference honors, while also placing fifth in the shot.
