A 2007 Gabelli School of Business graduate, Marcus Taylor was a dominant defensive player for the Fordham football Rams, earning All-America honors as a senior.

A four-year member of the football squad, Taylor was named a Football Gazette First Team All-American and a Sports Network Third Team All-American at the end of his senior year in 2006. He was also named the Football Gazette Northeast Linebacker of the Year as well as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. Taylor led the 2006 team and was second in the Patriot League with 116 total tackles and he also led the league in both forced fumbles and fumbles recovered in 2006.
Taylor was ranked 11th nationally in the FCS in total tackles and 50th in tackles for a loss in 2006.
A Second Team All-Patriot League selection in 2005, Taylor was second in the Patriot League and 17th in the NCAA FCS in total tackles as a junior in 2005 while also ranking seventh in the NCAA FCS in solo tackles.
A two-year team captain, Taylor closed out his Fordham career with 282 total tackles, 150 solo, including 19.5 for loss and seven sacks.
