Marcus Stout, a 2008 Gabelli School of Business graduate, was a four-year starter for the men’s basketball squad from 2004-2008, graduating among the school’s career leaders in points and three-pointers made.
Stout got his career off on the right foot, being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2005, when he averaged 13.6 ppg and set a conference record for a freshman with points in an A-10 championship game.
As a junior in 2006-2007, Stout earned Honorable Mention All-Atlantic 10 honors as well as Second Team All-Met in 2007. He averaged a team-high 15.3 ppg, 12th best in the Atlantic 10, as a junior with 78 assists and a team-high 49 steals, second best in the Atlantic 10 (1.63 steals/game) and was named the team MVP.
In his final year on Rose Hill, Stout scored at a 15.1 ppg clip while adding a team-best 85 assists and ranking second on the team with 29 steals. He was ranked among the Atlantic 10 leaders in scoring (12th), three-pointers made (seventh) and field goal percentage (14th) in 2007-2008.
A two-year team captain, Stout is currently sixth on the Fordham all-time scoring list with 1,709 points and second on the career three-pointers made list with 259.
Following graduation, Stout played professionally, first for the Detroit Pistons Summer League team and then for three years in Europe.
