Aughust "Gus" Harms was a swimming standout for the Rams in the 1930s.
The 1930-31 team captain, he set the 300-yard individual medley record at 3:51.4 at the 1931 I.S.A. Championship, as he won at least two events in every dual meet that season.
At the 1930 I.S.A. Championship, Harms won the 300-yard individual medley and finished third in the 150-yard backstroke.
Harms finished second in the 150-yard individual medley at the annual NCAA swim meet held at Harvard at 1:40.4, where he was touched out by Rutgers' George Kojac.
