Hall of Fame
Perhaps one of Fordham's greatest all-time athletes, Frisch attended Fordham Grammar and Fordham Preparatory Schools before entering Fordham College in 1916. At Fordham he excelled in football and baseball, and, had there been a varsity basketball team, would have led in that sport also. Walter Camp named him a Second-Team All-American at halfback for his gridiron exploits in 1918 and he paced the 1919 baseball team to a 21-6 mark, The Eastern Championship and second ranking nationally. Signed on the Rose Hill campus by the New York Baseball Giants in 1919, he played major league ball for 19 years, and is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown. He was a major league manager with the Pirates, Cubs, and Cards for 16 years and later broadcasted baseball for Mutual Broadcasting and the Cubs.
