A four year letter winner, Herzog was Fordham's all-time leader in games played with 126 (tied with Jean Prioleau) and he ranked sixth on Fordham all-time scoring list with 1,435 career points and 12th on Fordham all-time rebounding list with 637 career boards. An accurate shooter, his career field goal percentage of .496 was fourth best in school history and he hit 17 free throws at Lehigh in 1992 which was the second best single game total in school history.
 
Herzog led Fordham to the 1991 and 1992 Patriot League Championship, averaging a team-high 17.9 ppg and 6.4 rpg as a senior. He was named First Team All-Patriot League and the Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player in 1992. Following the 1992 championship, he led Fordham into the NCAA Tournament where he scored 16 points in Fordham's 85-58 loss to Massachusetts and was selected Fordham's CBS/Chevrolet Most Valuable Player of the Game. He was also Patriot League All-Tournament selection in 1991 as well as honorable mention All-Met area.
 
Herzog played in the CBA and was also drafted by the Rockford Lightning in 1992 as the 37th pick overall and played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 1994-95. Her played professionally in Japan last season and was a member of the 1996-97 Chicago Bulls pre-season roster as well as playing in Australia in 1993-93.
