Last Time Out
The Rams traveled up to Olean on Wednesday and swept their doubleheader with St. Bonaventure by a combined score of 17-4. Fordham took game one in five innings, 11-1, with
Molly Roark's two-run double in the first inning providing all the offense they'd need against the Bonnies. The team hit four home runs in game one and six overall on the day, including three off the bat of
Jordy Storm, two coming in game one for her second career multi-homer game. Roark added a two-run bomb in the second and Storm and
Rachel Hubertus went back-to-back with solo shots in the fourth. Aughinbaugh went the distance, allowing just one run on two hits and two walks, with five strikeouts, to pick up her ninth win. The junior made the start in game two, as well, and allowed three runs to give the hosts their first lead of the day but the Rams would rally. Storm kicked off the scoring with another solo home run and
Kylie Michael drew a bases-loaded walk to plate the second run. A throwing error led to the third game to tie things up and the visitors took the lead for good on a Hubertus RBI single.
Makenzie McGrath picked up the win by matching her season-high of five innings, all without allowing a run to score. Storm finished the day 5-for-8 at the plate with three long balls and five runs scored to pace the offense.
Conference-Only
The Rams are 8-3 to begin league play this season, with four straight conference series wins, to sit in third place in the standings despite having the most league wins. At the dish, the team is slashing .304/.372/.464 as a team, led by three players batting over .400 – Storm, Trivelpiece, and Roark at .476, .463, and .417, respectively. Those three all hold an OPS above 1.000, as does Hubertus, with a combined 12 home runs. Storm leads the way with 20 hits, 15 runs scored, and five home runs, while sporting a .952 slugging percentage thanks to a team-high eight extra-base hits. Roark leads the way with 15 RBI, while Hubertus leads with 11 walks. In the circle,
Madie Aughinbaugh does what she usually does – turns her game up a notch in conference play. The junior is 6-0 over eight starts with six complete games, one shutout, and a 2.13 ERA over 46.0 frames.
Â
Having played the most contests (11), it's not surprising to see several Rams atop the conference leaderboards. Storm leads the Atlantic 10 in runs, hits, and home runs, while her average sits fifth, just ahead of Trivelpiece and Roark in sixth and ninth, respectively. Storm leads the way in slugging while Roark's .548 on-base percentage sits fourth among her peers. Aughinbaugh's six wins are two more than the next closest rival, while her 2.13 ERA sits third among pitchers with at least 20 innings.Â
