Fayetteville, Ark. – (May 15, 2026) – Payton Burnham threw six innings of three-hit ball, while her teammates hit three home runs, as the #5 seed Arkansas Razorbacks topped the Fordham Rams, 8-0, in six innings in the opening game of the NCAA Fayetteville Regional in Arkansas.
The loss drops Fordham to 27-27 on the season, while Arkansas improved to 43-11.
THE GAME
- Fordham kept Arkansas off the board in the first and recorded the first two hits of the game in the second inning on singles by Sadira Forcucci and Eva Koratsis but were unable to cash in on the early scoring chance.
- Arkansas would score in the second inning, getting a two-run home run by Karlie Davison as well as an RBI-single by Reagan Johnson. For Davison, it was her ninth of the season.
- The game would then be delayed in the second inning by weather for 35 minutes.
- The Razorbacks made it 4-0 in the third on a solo home run by Tianna Bell, her 16th of the season.
- Arkansas followed with a run in the fifth and a three-run home run by Dakota Kennedy in the sixth for the 8-0 final in six innings.
GAME NOTES
- Olivia Simcoe (12-10) pitched 3.1 innings in the start, allowing four runs on seven hits.
- Sydney May tossed 2.1 innings of relief, giving up four runs on four hits.
- Forcucci and Koratsis were both 1-for-2 in the game, while Mikayla Swan went 1-for-3.
- Arkansas' Payton Burnham improved to 13-3 on the year, recorded six strikeouts over six innings.
