Bronx, N.Y. – Friday the 13
th brought plenty of luck to the Fordham Track & Field programs at the four-school Fordham Invitational, also featuring local programs Manhattan, Stony Brook, and Iona, with nine event wins, a new program record – sophomore
Nkeka Pinheiro in the women's 60 meter dash, and two IC4A qualifying times.

Pinheiro and classmate
Mary Kate Kenny both beat the previous school record in the 60 meter, 7.86 Â set by Sherilyn Groeninger in 2010, but Pinheiro's 7.82 was just barely faster than Kenny's 7.85. Kenny had previously matched Groeninger's mark last month at the Fordham Season Opener inside the Vince Lombardi Fieldhouse.

The Rams had two IC4A qualifiers,
Brian Cook and
Thomas Slattery. Cook won the 3,000 meter by just under 13 seconds with a time of 8:22.85, while Slattery finished second in the 5,000 meter, behind Manhattan's Amir Khaghani, with a time of 14:49.29.

Kenny took home the 200 meter dash in 25.52 and was followed by Pinheiro (25.74) and
Laura Jaeger (26.60) in the top three. Other finishers in the event were

Aidan Moroz won the 800 meter with a time of 2:21.13 just ahead of Manhattan's Erin Spadaccini. Fordham made up spots three through five with
Morgan Menzzasalma (2:23.39),
Blake Elwood (2:26.37), and
Georgeanne Siller (2:28.21), in that order.

The Fordham women's 4x400 team of
Genesis Amancio,
Kaia Corthell,
Blake Elwood, and
Kaila Boyer won the relay by 11 second with a time of 4:01.17.

Reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week
Michael Petersen took the 1,000 meter by half a second ahead of Iona's Johannes Motschmann with a time of 2:32.31. Â The men's 4x400 relay was also won by the Rams' 'A' quartet of
Jared Benn,
Griffin Bilicic,
Ryan McGann, and Andre Guthrie in 3:31.77, nearly one full second ahead of an Iona foursome.
Andrew Byrne took the men's high jump with a distance of 1.89 meters, while
Ryan Riviere took the pole vault at 3.96 meters.

Merissa Wright finished runner-up to Stony Brook's Annika Sisson in the 1,000 meter with a time of 2:58.58, three seconds behind the winner. Corthell competed in the 500 meter dash and took fourth in 1:19.78, while
Sydney Snow finished second in the mile run with a time of 5:12.68.
Kate McCormack (8
th – 5:26.39) and
Josephine Jacob-Dolan (10
th – 5:39.19) also competed in the event. The quartet of
Stephanie Leo (8
th – 10:40.91),
Brianne Roche (9
th – 10:52.13),
Kieran Hanrahan (11
th – 11:11.60), and
Maiya Larsen (13
th – 11:52.07) competed in the women's 3,000 meter run. Abigail finished just under five seconds behind Stony Brook's Elizabeth Caldwell in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:14.12. In the women's 60 meter hurdles,
Gabrielle Schreib came in second in 9.33 seconds, while
Emily Silfies finished fourth in 10.26.

Gavalas and Caucci finished fourth and fifth in the long jump, with 5.02 and 4.69 meter distances, respectively, while Schreib, Kwiatkowski, and Silfies finished eighth, ninth, and 10
th with distances of 4.47, 4.46, and 4.43 meters, respectively. Gavalas (10.61m), Kwiatkowski (10.18m), and Caucci (9.54m) came in third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Kwiatkowski also competed in the shot put, throwing a distance of 8.72 meters, good for fourth.

On the men's side,
Griffin Bilicic was the lone Ram to run in the 60 meter dash and placed seventh with a time of 7.41 seconds.
Andrew Byrne was the lone Ram runner in the 200 meter, finishing sixth in 24.96, and the duo of
Jared Benn and
Eddie Dehais finished second and third with times of 1:06.31 and 1:08.20, respectively.
Patrick Dineen (2:02.73),
Jordan Milite (2:06.14), and
Ryan McGann (2:09.12), finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the 800 meter. Also competing along with Peterson in the 1,000 meter were
Patrick Donahue (6
th – 2:40.72) and
Matthew Roma (8
th – 2:46.03).

In the mile,
Jake Duckworth (4
th – 4:22.79), Nikolas O'Brien (5
th – 4:33.82),
Sean Sullivan (8
th – 4:43.17), and
Jerome Vessichio (9
th – 4:51.04) participated.
Ryan Kutch competed alongside Cook in the 3,000 meter and finished in third in 8:35.28. '

The Rams are back in action in two weeks at the annual Terrier Classic at Boston University on Friday, January 27.
