Men’s Track & Field Runs at BU Valentine Invitational

Sam Freeman Posts Season-Best Times in the 200 & 400 Meters

Boston, Mass. – (February 13, 2026) – Members of the Fordham track & field team began a two-day stay at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

HIGHLIGHTS

All of the men's events were held on Friday, starting with the 60-meter hurdles, as Menzel Thomas was 14^th at 8.68 seconds, while James Alati was 15^th at 8.72 seconds.
In the 60-meter dash invitational, C.J. Weddington was 12^th overall at 7.06 seconds, followed by Liam Volz was 21^st at 7.18 seconds. Volz was also 40^th overall in the 200-meter dash at 22.31 seconds.
Sam Freeman then competed in both the 200 and 400-meter invitational events.First, he was 21^st in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 48.48 seconds, while being tenth in the 200 meters with a season-best time of 21.60 seconds.
In the 800 meters, Ben Borchers was the Rams' top time at 1:54.57 (72^nd), followed by Eben Tyre at 1:57.33 (116^th) and Matthew Febles in 1:58.47 (135^th).
The 1,000-meter event saw John Corrigan post a season-best time of 2:26.99, good for 20^th overall, while Darren Croke was 50^th (2:31.35) and Trevor Rinn was 68^th (2:39.81)
The final competitors on the track were in the mile run, as Sean Reidy ran a season-best time of 4:07.58 (105^th) with Eric Schleif following in at 4:23.20 (272^nd).
In the field events, Kenan Andrews was sixth in the long jump at 21' 7 ½", while Patrick Torres finished four in the high jump, clearing 5' 10 ¾".

WHAT'S NEXT

Members of the Fordham women's team will compete on day two of the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 14^th, while the remainder of the team will be at the Giegengack Invitational, hosted by Yale.
