Men’s Track & Field Earns Four Medals at #A10ITF Championship

Sam Freeman Medals in the 200 & 400 Meters, while John Corrigan and Sean Reidy Also Medal on Day Two

Virginia Beach, Va. – (February 28, 2026) – The Fordham men's track & field team wrapped competition at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center Virginia.
 
Fordham finished in a tie for seventh place in the team standings with Loyola Chicago at 42 points.
 
DAY 2 FORDHAM MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • The remaining 15 men's events concluded on Saturday with the Rams scoring in eight of those events and earning four podium finishes.
  • George Pomer completed his work in the heptathlon, scoring fifth with 4,251 points.  In his final three events, he was second in the 1,000 meters (2:52.10), third in the 60-meter hurdles (9.17), and sixth in the pole vault (10' 11 ¾").
  • Fordham's first medal performance came from Sean Reidy, as he earned the silver medal and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the mile run for the second straight season with a time of 4:14.77.
  • Sam Freeman then matched that finish in the 400-meter dash, taking silver and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in a school record time of 47.48 seconds, breaking his own record from last year.  He is Fordham's first medalist in the 400 meters since Sean Atkinson in 2011 (bronze).
  • In the 1,000 meters, John Corrigan grabbed the bronze medal and third place with a season-best time of 2:25.32.  The last Ram to medal in the 1,000 meters was Zalen Nelson in 2022.
  • Freeman found his way back to the podium in the 200-meter dash, grabbing the bronze medal with a time of 21.62 seconds.
  • Kenan Andrews was the next Ram to find the scoring column, placing seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 48' 3 ½".
  • The Rams then scored in the final two relays of the championship.  Corrigan, Eric Schleif, Ben Borchers, and Reidy scored fourth in the 4x800 relay in a season-best time of 7:39.32, while Eben Tyre, Yariv Simhony, Trevor Rinn, and Freeman finished seventh in a season-best time of 3:19.97.
  • In the remaining finals, Bradford Duchesne posted the top time of 8:38.66 in the 3,000 meters with Patrick Torres finishing tenth in the high jump (6' 4") and Noah Rubenstein taking ninth in the shot put (46' 8 ¼").
