Men’s Track & Field in Ninth at #A10ITF Championship

Distance Medley Relay Scores Eighth in Final Event on Day One

Virginia Beach, Va. – (February 27, 2026) – The Fordham men's track & field team opened competition at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday, which is being held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center Virginia.
 
After day one, Fordham sits in ninth place with one point, as only five events were scored.
 
DAY 1 FORDHAM MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Five men's events were scored on Friday with the Rams scoring in the final event of the day.
  • The Rams' distance medley relay of Matthew Febles, Eben Tyre, Trevor Rinn, and Darren Croke scored eighth overall with a time of 10:25.61.
  • Fordham looks to score more on day two, as the Rams qualified for three finals on day one.
  • Sam Freeman qualified for both the 200-meter and 400-meter finals, posting a season-best time of 48.37 in the 400 meters and a time of 21.65 seconds in the 200 meters.
  • John Corrigan recorded a time of 228.68 to qualify for the 1,000-meter finals.
  • George Pomer is also in position to score on day two in the heptathlon.Through the first four events, Pomer is fifth with 2,354 points.He was second in the high jump (6' 3 ½"), sixth in the shot put (32' 10 ½"), and eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (7.86) and the long jump (18' 10 ¾").
  • Menzel Thomas just missed the 60-meter hurdles final, taking ninth in 8.44 seconds, while CJ Weddington was 11th in the 60-meter dash with a season-best time of 7.01 seconds.
  • In the 500 meters, Tyre was 11th in the 500 meters (1:07.56) with Eric Schleif taking tenth in the 800 meters (1:54.24).
  • Kenan Andrews also missed scoring in the long jump, finishing ninth at 22' 1 ½", while Noah Rubenstein was 13th in the weight throw (44' 4" – season-best) and Bradford Duchesne was 17th in the 5,000 meters (14:49.10).
