Philadelphia, Pa. – (April 26, 2024) – The Fordham track & field team opened their two-day stay at the Penn Relays on Friday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The day of relays started with the college division distance medley relay event. The women's team of
Mary Kathryn Underwood,
Anna Maria Ivits,
Brenna Sears, and
Meredith Gotzman placed ninth in 12:03.18, while the men's group of
Rodolfo Sanchez,
Matthew Nurse,
Trevor Rinn, and
Colin Flood grabbed fifth in 9:45.57.
Then in the heats of the women's 4x100 relay, Fordham's team of
Dillyn Green,
Skylar Harris,
Caroline Fallona, and
Kyla Hill recorded a season-best time of 47.75 seconds, placing 17
th overall.
Next up were the Championship of America races in the 4x200 relay. The women's team of
Michele Daye,
Alexandra Williams,
Nicole Lytle, and
Kylie Ritz finished 16
th overall in 1:41.20, while the men's group of
Jabril Carter,
Liam Volz,
Dakota Strain, and Nurse took 17
th in 1:27.74.
The day of relays wrapped up with the college division 4x400 relay heats. Fordham just missed qualifying for the college division women's final on Saturday, as Daye, Williams, Green, and Ivits clocked in at 3:52.73. On the men's side,
Kevin Callaghan, Strain,
Christopher Martinez, and
Sam Freeman took 13
th overall in a season-best time of 3:19.65.
Skylar Harris was the lone individual competitor for the Rams, as she placed 16
th in the college division of the women's long jump at 17' 6 ¼".
Fordham will finish competition at the Penn Relays on Saturday, as the Rams will run in both college division events of the 4x800 relay.
