Boston, Mass. – (January 26, 2024) – Day one of track & field competition in Boston has concluded at both the John Thomas Terrier Classic and the River Hawk Invitational on Friday evening with the Fordham Rams having a successful day with seven season-best times and seven ECAC/IC4A qualifying times.
 
At the River Hawk Invitational, the Fordham women took center stage led by 
Kyla Hill, made the 60-meter qualifying dash final with a season-best time of 7.59 seconds and then finished fifth in the final at 7.60 seconds.  She later finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 24.89 seconds, while teammate 
Dillyn Green was 42
nd in 26.18 seconds.  Green also competed in the standard 60-meter dash event, finishing third in 7.95 seconds.
 
In the 400-meter dash, 
Michele Daye placed 18
th overall with a season-best time of 59.63 seconds, while 
Alexandra Williams was 24
th in 1:00.54.  Then in the 60-meter hurdles, the duo of 
Kylie Ritz (9.27) and 
Nicole Lytle (9.39) were 18
th and 26
th respectively.
 
The final track event for the Rams was the 4x400 relay, where Green, Williams, Daye, and Hill placed second in an ECAC qualifying time of 3:52.73.
 
Over on the field events, 
Sarah Cooley took part in the weight throw and shot put events, as she took 25
th in the shot put (35' 6") and 29
th in the weight throw (37' 7"), while 
Skylar Harris tied for 39
th in the long jump (16' 5 ¼").  In the triple jump, 
Alexandra Manetovic (36' 9 ½") and 
Leia Ruvo (36' 8 ½") were 16
th and 17
th, respectively, while in the high jump, Manetovic tied for seventh (5' 2 1/4") with Ruvo tying for 16th (5' 1/4").
 
The men's distance runners were then at the Terrier Classic, which began with 
Yariv Simhony placing 57
th overall in the 800-meter run in a season-best time of 1:55.29, while 
Trevor Rinn was 70th overall (1:56.27).
 
Sean Reidy then posted a top ten finish in the 1,000-meter run, taking tenth overall in an IC4A qualifying time of 2:26.53.
 
The mile run saw a trio of Rams compete with all three runners posting an IC4A qualifying time.  
Rodolfo Sanchez was 50
th overall in 4:06.58, followed by 
Colin Flood in 79
th (4:10.18) and 
Nathan Bezuneh in 90
th (4:11.42).
 
The final event for the men was the 5,000-meter run, where 
Steven Zucca was 43
rd overall in an IC4A qualifying time of 14:32.66.
 
Fordham's team will now flip competition sites on Saturday, January 27
th, as the men will be at the River Hawk Invitational, while the women are at the John Thomas Terrier Classic.
