Track & Field Sets Two Records on Final Day of ECAC/IC4A Championship

Kyla Hill Takes Bronze in the 200-Meter Dash, Breaking Her Own School Record; Women’s 4x100 Relay Breaks School Mark for Third Time This Season

Fairfax, Virginia – (May 14, 2023) – It was a successful final day for the Fordham track & field team at the 2023 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship, held at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia.
 
The Rams finished team competition in 11th place for the women with 29.5 points, while the men tied for 17th with 15 points.

Fordham set two school records on Sunday, beginning with the women's 4x100 relay, where Dillyn Green, Kathryn Kelly, Skylar Harris, and Kathryn Kelly broke their own school record set last week with a time of 46.13 seconds, good for fourth in the event.
 
The men's 4x100 relay team also scored for the Rams, as Liam Volz, Kenneth Maxwell, Matthew Nurse, and Christian Weddington placed sixth in a time of 41.53 seconds.
 
The Rams' next scoring event was the finals of the 100-meter dash, where both Hill and Kelly qualified for the final.  Hill just missed the podium in fourth place at 11.87 seconds, while Kelly was sixth in 11.94 seconds.
 
Then in the 200-meter dash, Hill made the podium in her final race, taking bronze in a school record time of 23.54 seconds, breaking her own record of 24.04 set last year.  Kelly scored seventh in the event at 24.14 seconds with Green in 20th at 24.98 seconds.  On the men's side, Weddington finished 18th in the 200 meters with a season-best time of 21.81 seconds.
 
The last individual event for Fordham was the men's 400-meter dash, where Matthew Nurse was 12th in a season-best time of 48.42 seconds, while Kevin Callaghan was 23rd in 49.38 seconds.
 
The championship concluded with the 4x800 and 4x400 relay events, where Fordham scored fifth in the men's event, where Ben Borchers, Eric Jacobson, Darren Croke, and Zalen Nelson clocked in with a season-best performance of 7:30.76, while the women's team of Molly Mulvaney, Jilli Jones, Taylor Mascetta, and Alexandra Thomas were tenth in 9:19.28.
 
Lastly, the men's 4x400 relay team of Callaghan, Erik Brown, Yariv Simhony, and Nurse just missed scoring, as they were ninth in a time of 3:17.87.
