Women’s Track & Field in 13th After Day 1 of A-10 Championship

Skylar Harris Scores Seventh in the Long Jump; Rams Qualify for Three Sunday Finals

Kingston, R.I. – (February 25, 2023) – The 2023 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship got underway on Saturday at Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, Rhode Island.
 
After six events, George Mason leads with 68 points, followed by VCU (33), La Salle (28), Davidson (19), Richmond (16), Duquesne (14), Loyola Chicago (14), Massachusetts (12), Rhode Island (9), Dayton (7), Saint Louis (7), George Washington (6), Fordham (2), Saint Joseph's (0), and St. Bonaventure (0).
 
Fordham scored in one of the six scoring events on Saturday, as Skylar Harris finished seventh overall in the long jump with career-best jump of 18' 2 ½".
 
Fordham also qualified for three Sunday finals, led by Kyla Hill, who qualified second for both the 60-meter dash (7.60) and 200-meter dash (24.80).  Teammate Dillyn Green also competed in both events, placing 22nd in the 200 meters (25.94) and 23rd in the 60 meters (8.01).
 
Mary Kathryn Underwood also qualified for the Sunday final in the 800-meter run, finishing fifth overall in 2:15.23.  Due to other heat winners, Helen Connolly missed out on the final, despite having the seventh-best time at 2:16.40.  Molly Mulvaney ended up 13th in the event in 2:19.48 with Jilli Jones in 19th place at 2:23.55.
 
Other Rams competing on Saturday continued with Marin Bogulski, who was 12th overall in the 1,000-meter run in 3:02.92, while the trio of Caroline McDonagh (17:45.14), Nathania Tan (18:02.04), and Madeleine Ryan (18:54.07) were 13th, 17th, and 32nd, respectively, in the 5,000-meter run.
 
In the weight throw event, Tiffany Hanna finished tenth overall with a throw of 51' 4 ¼" with Casey Metzler in 14th at 49' 7".
 
The final event of day one was the distance medley relay, where Fordham's team of Bogulski, Alexandra Williams, Taylor Mascetta, and Alexandra Thomas placed 12th in 12:47.82.
 
The Championship concludes on Sunday at 11 AM.
