Track & Field Wraps Up Competition at #A10OTF Championship

Leia Ruvo Earns Silver Medal for Second Team All-Atlantic 10 Honors in Heptathlon

Fairfax, Va. – (May 3, 2026) – The Fordham track & field team finished competition on Sunday at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship, which was held at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Fordham ended up in 13^th place with 28.83 points.
Leia Ruvo highlighted day two of the championship, as she earned silver and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the heptathlon with a career-best score of 5,007 points.In the final three events, she was first in the javelin throw (119' 1"), third in the 800 meters (2:24.58), and fourth in the long jump (18' 1 ¾").
Ruvo also scored in the high jump event, along with Zoe Arakelian, as Arakelian was fourth, clearing 5' 6", with Ruvo tying for sixth at 5' 4 ¼".
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, which was moved from Saturday, Meredith Gotzman scored seventh in 10:53.50.
Jodie Pierce then scored fifth in the 1,500-meter final in 4:33.07.
In the 400-meter dash final, Alexandra Williams finished seventh overall in 57.10 seconds, as did Brenna Sears in the 800-meter run final in 2:14.66.
Fordham's final scoring event was the 4x400 relay, where Nicole Lytle, Kylie Ritz, Alondra Baez, and Williams placed eighth in 3:50.12.
In other relay action, the 4x100 relay of Ritz, Carolina Fallona, Dillyn Green, and Lytle were 11^th in 48.40 seconds, while the 4x800 relay of Sears, Alexis Smith, Kathleen Keefe, and Pierce were 11^th in 9:15.60.
Other top performers on Sunday were Gotzman in the 5,000 meters (14^th – 17:36.51), Sarah Cooley in the shot put (14^th – 38' 2"), and Alexandra Manetovic in the triple jump (35' 4").

MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Fordham finished tenth in the team standings with 23 points.
George Pomer finished off a scoring performance in the decathlon, placing fifth with 5,559 points.On day two, he ended up third in the javelin throw (163' 9") and 1,500 meters (4:53.53), fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.70) and discus throw (95' 11"), and seventh in the pole vault (10' 11 ¾").
In the 1,500-meter final, Sean Reidy finished 11^th overall in 4:09.61.
Menzel Thomas scored eighth in the 110-meter hurdles final in 15.28 seconds.
The 800-meter final saw Ben Borchers record Fordham's best finish of the day in fourth place at 1:54.19.
Noah Rubenstein scored seventh in the discus throw with a season-best distance of 145' 11", while just missing the scoring column in the shot put with a ninth place finish (46' 9").
In the 4x100 relay Liam Volz, Thomas, Kenan Andrews, and Matthew Nurse placed seventh in 43.16 seconds.
The 4x800 relay group of John Corrigan, Borchers, Eric Schleif, and Reidy scored fifth in 7:34.65.
Lastly in the scoring column was the 4x400 relay of Nurse, Sam Freeman, Volz, and Will Spierdowis, who finished seventh in 3:20.13.
Other top performers were Jimmy Hernandez in the 5,000 meters (17^th – 15:02.69), Patrick Torres in the triple jump (11^th – 44' 0" – season-best) and high jump (T11th – 5' 11 ¼"), and Marcelino Hernandez-Peng in the high jump (T11th – 5' 11 ¼").
