New York, N.Y. – (February 21, 2020) – In their final meet prior to the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Fordham track & field team took part in the Armory College Last Chance Meet, hosted at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York.
The Rams had a solid day posting 13 top ten finishes and four season-best performances.
In the men's competition,
Andrew Byrne had the best finish for Fordham, tying for second in the high jump, clearing 5' 10 ¾". He also posted a season-best time in the 60 meter hurdles at 9.77 seconds, good for 17
th place, while taking 14
th in the long jump (18' 10 ¾").
Ryan McGraw had a pair of top tens in the jumping events for Fordham, placing fourth in the long jump with a mark of 20' 8" and eighth in the triple jump at 40' 4 ¾".
Alec Wargo rounded out the field event top tens with a fifth-place finish in the weight throw, notching a mark of 47' 2 ½".

On the track side of things,
Sean Sullivan was ninth in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:56.05, while
Michael Capone grabbed 11
th in the 200 meter dash (22.64) and tied for 17
th in the 60 meter dash (7.23).
Jack Keegan was the Rams' top performer in the 400 meter dash, taking 14
th in 51.44 seconds with Patrick Touhy finishing 13
th in the mile run at 4:27.50.
On the women's side,
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski and
Germaine Harbaugh both were in the top 15 in the mile run, as Katarzyna was eighth in 5:22.09, while Harbaugh was 11th in 5:24.86.
Mary Kathryn Underwood finished sixth in the 500 meters at 1:19.58, while
Peri Chase posted a season-best time of 10.01 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, good for tenth. Chase was also the Rams' top performer in the long jump with a distance of 15' 9 ¾" (14
th)
In the 800 meter run,
Sydney Snow took sixth in the 2:18.97, followed by
Jilli Jones in eighth (2:19.61),
Nicoleta Papavasilakis in 14
th (2:25.95), and
Maeve O'Connor in 15
th (2:25.99).
In the field events,
Amanda Gurth placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 36' 5", while
Casey Metzler was fourth in the weight throw with a season-best mark of 47' 6 ½".
Jade Dyer-Kennedy had the final season-best performance, jumping 35' 9 ¼" in the triple jump, good for fifth, while being 15
th in the long jump at 15' 9 ¾".
The Rams are next in action on February 29-March 1 at the Atlantic 10 Championship, hosted by the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.
