Last Time Out
The Rams took a second consecutive road series to begin Atlantic 10 play last weekend at George Mason. Fordham swept Saturday's doubleheader by a combined score of 8-5 but fell in game three, 6-5, after rallying to tie the game in the seventh. Junior Madie Aughinbaugh was the star of game one, firing her 37th career complete game, 10th this year, with just one run allowed for her 40th career victory. Aughinbaugh also provided the game-winning hit with a third-inning RBI single. Game two featured the pitching debut of senior Maria Trivelpiece, who allowed zero hits but five walks over two frames before Makenzie McGrath came on in relief to throw a season-high five innings and pick up her third win. The offense was quiet until a five-run fifth that was capped by Molly Roark's ninth home run of the season, which proved to be the difference in the game. Held to just one run over the first six innings on Sunday, the Rams erupted for four runs in the seventh on a series of hits, an error, and a sac fly. The Patriots walked off against McGrath in the bottom of the frame, however.

Aughinbaugh led the way at t he plate last week, hitting .467 with a pair of runs batted in. Molly Roark was next with a .417 average and then both Jordy Storm and Trivelpiece, each at .385. Aughinbaugh also enjoyed a 1.91 ERA over two starts.

Conference-Only
The Rams are 4-2 in league play to begin the year. Madie Aughinbaugh is again enjoying another stellar conference season, leading the squad with a .409 average and a 2.52 ERA and a perfect 3-0 record over four starts. The junior is joined by Jordy Storm, who is also batting .409 but has a team-high .727 slugging percentage, as well, with a team-high four extra-base hits. Maria Trivelpiece, Molly Roark, and Rachel Hubertus are all batting above .300, as well, each with at least six hits and two extra-base hits. Hubertus has drawn a team-high five walks, as well, and leads the squad with a pair of home runs.

Series History
The hotly contested Fordham-Dayton rivalry stands in favor of the Rams, 28-25, since 1996. The Flyers enjoyed the large part of the success in the early years of the series, winning 15 of the first 16 contests before the Rams began to improve, going 27-10 since, including six straight wins the last two seasons. Fordham holds an all-time 14-11 record at Bahoshy Field against Dayton. Madie Aughinbaugh earned the win in all three games last year as the Rams offense got to Jessicas Gilliam and Weaver, Dayton's top two pitchers this year, for a combined 22 runs over two games. Aughinbaugh also got a win in her lone start as a freshman in 2017.
