Virginia Beach, Va. – (March 1, 2025) – The 2025 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship came to a close on Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The Fordham women's team had a good showing, placing eighth out of 14 scoring teams with 35.5 points. It is their best finish at the championship since 2011.
Day two of the championship started with a medal in the field events, as
Zoe Arakelian tied for third in the high jump, clearing 5' 5", to tie her season-best and earn her a bronze medal.
Leia Ruvo just missed scoring in the event as well, tying for ninth at 5' 3".
The next scoring event for Fordham was the 60-meter hurdles final, where
Kylie Ritz scored sixth with a time of 8.91 seconds. The Rams would have picked up points in the 500-meter final, but an injury during the race knocked
Sara Labor out of the event.
The Rams got back in the scoring column in the 3,000-meter run, when
Katarina Birimac picked up her second medal of the championship. She placed third in a time of 9:46.26 and picked up the bronze.
In the relays, Fordham's squad of
Brenna Sears,
Kathleen Keefe,
Cate Roche, and
Megan McCann just missed scoring in ninth place at a season-best time of 9:23.80, while the 4x400 relay of
Dillyn Green,
Michele Daye,
Kylie Ritz, and
Alexandra Williams scored sixth in a season-best mark of 3:51.37.
Fordham also had competitors in the shot put and mile run events.
Tanicha Saintigene was the top Ram in the shot put, taking 11
th overall with a distance of 41' 3 ¾", while
Sophia Oliva was 17
th in the mile run at 5:09.86.
The Rams now look to the final championship of the indoor season, the ECAC Championship, which will be held, March 7-9, in Boston.
