Amherst, Mass. – (May 7, 2023) – The 2023 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship has wrapped up at the UMass Track & Field Complex in Amherst, Massachusetts with the Fordham women finishing ninth overall.
George Mason won the team championship with 161 points, followed by VCU (130.5), Massachusetts (108.5), Rhode Island (88), Dayton (76.5), Davidson (64), Richmond (58), Duquesne (44.5), Fordham (42), La Salle (35), Loyola Chicago (16), Saint Louis (13), Saint Joseph's (12), George Washington (9), and St. Bonaventure (0).
Fordham medaled three times on Sunday, beginning with the 4x100 relay team of
Dillyn Green,
Kathryn Kelly,
Skylar Harris, and
Kyla Hill, who earned a silver medal and Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in a school record time of 46.15 seconds. It bested the previous mark of 46.95 set in 2022.
Hill made the podium two more times on Sunday, beginning in the 100-meter dash, where she took bronze in a school record time of 11.79 seconds, besting the one-day mark of 11.86 set by Kelly on Saturday. Kelly ended up scoring eighth in the 100 meters on Sunday in 11.97 seconds.
Hill's final trip to the podium came in the 200-meter dash, earning Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors and a silver medal in a season-best time of 24.15 seconds.
The Rams scored in three other events on Sunday, starting with the 1,500 meters, as
Helen Connolly scored eighth in the event in a season-best time of 4:35.05.
Marin Bogulski ended up 18
th overall in 4:42.87, while
Alexandra Thomas was 25
th in 4:46.33.
Connolly almost scored in a second event on Sunday, placing ninth in the finals of the 800 meters in 2:17.12.
Fordham finished the scoring in the relay events, as Bogulski,
Mary Kathryn Underwood,
Taylor Mascetta, and
Jilli Jones placed eighth in the 4x800 relay in 9:17.45. Then, Green, Kelly, Hill, and
Molly Mulvaney scored sixth in the 4x400 relay with a season-best and ECAC qualifying time of 3:48.94.
Nathania Tan was the last track competitor for the Rams, finishing 18
th in the 5,000-meter run in 18:27.26.
In the field events,
Amanda Gurth took part in both the shot put and discus throw events. She posted a season-best mark of 38' ¾" in the shot put, good for 14
th, while being 15
th in the discus throw with a distance of 107' 11". Then in the triple jump,
Alexandra Manetovic was 11
th overall in 37' 9 ¼" with
Leia Ruvo in 14
th at 37' 6 ¾".
The Rams will now prep for the ECAC/IC4A Championship, May 13-14, in Fairfax, Virginia.
