Williamsburg, Va. – (May 15, 2022) – It was another stellar day for the Fordham track & field team, as the squad wrapped up their stay at the 2022 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The Rams finished 12
th in the women's team standings with 30 points, while the men's were 13
th with 23 points. For both squads, it was the team's best point totals at the ECAC/IC4A Championship in over two decades.
The day began with
Tiffany Hanna placing tenth in the women's discus throw with a distance of 141' 9"
The action then turned to the track, where
Dominique Valentine placed 25
th in the 400-meter dash in a time of 58.80 seconds.
Kyla Hill then made the most of her two runs on Sunday. First, she placed fifth in the 100-meter dash finals, clocking in at 12.13 seconds. She then set a new school record in the 200-meter dash at 24.09 seconds, scoring fourth overall.
The relays then took over, starting with the men's 4x800 relay, where
Erik Brown,
Zalen Nelson,
Christopher Strzelinski, and
Jeremiah LaDuca earned silver with a second-place finish in a season-best time of 7:28.09.
The women's 4x800 relay was next, as the team of
Mary Kathryn Underwood,
Helen Connolly, and
Jilli Jones, and
Bridget Alex just missed the podium in fourth place, posting a season-best time of 9:12.68.
The final event on Sunday for the Rams was the men's 4x400 relay, where
Antony Misko,
Patrick Tuohy,
Isaiah James, and
Eric Jacobson ended up ninth in 3:20.00.
The Rams will now await the confirmed entries for the NCAA East Regional, which begins on May 27
th in Bloomington, Indiana.
