Results
New Haven, Conn. – (April 23, 2022) – The Fordham track & field team made the short trip up I-95 to New Haven, as the Rams competed at the Mark T. Young Invitational, hosted by Yale University.
The Fordham women's placed fifth out of eight teams in the team standings with 67 points, while the men were sixth out of seven teams with 37 points.
The tone was set early for the Rams in the first event of the day, the women's hammer throw, where
Tiffany Hanna improved her school record in the event by about 13 feet, as she placed fourth with a mark of 168' ½". She also scored second in the discus throw with a mark of 133' 10 ½".
Kathryn Kelly joined Hanna with a pair of second place finishes, as well as a third-place finish. She took second in the long jump with a season-best mark of 19' 7" and second in the 200-meter dash, just missing her school record by .04 seconds with a season-best time of 24.38 seconds. She then registered third in the 100-meter dash, once again coming close to her school record with a season-best time of 11.94 seconds.
Kyla Hill joined Kelly in the scoring in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, as she grabbed third in the 200 meters (24.49) and fourth in the 100 meters (12.06).
Fordham had one runner score in the 800 and 1500 meters, as well as the 400-meter hurdles.
Mary Kathryn Underwood scored sixth in the 800 meters at 2:19.40, while
Alexandra Thomas placed fifth in the 1500 meters at 4:47.39.
Molly Mulvaney then scored sixth in the 400 hurdles with a season-best time of 1:06.92.
Then in 5,000 meters,
Caroline McDonagh and
Nathania Tan both scored, taking fifth (18:06.73) and sixth (18:53.67), respectively.

The remaining points came from
Jade Dyer-Kennedy in the triple jump (4
th – 36' 5 ¾"),
Amanda Gurth in the shot put (38' 8 ¼"), and the 4x400 relay, where
Sophia Crucs, Mulvaney,
Jilli Jones, and Underwood were third (4:08.03).
On the men's side, Fordham had three second-place finishes for the majority of the team scoring.
Zalen Nelson led a group of three runners to score in the 800 meters, finishing second in 1:51.26, while
Jeremiah LaDuca was fourth (1:52.88) and
Christopher Strzelinski took fifth (1:53.31).
The next runner-up finish came from
Nathan Bezuneh, who took second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:56.78.
Justin Lombardi also scored in the steeplechase in fourth place at 10:13.30.
The final second place mark was in the 4x400 relay, where
Antony Misko,
Erik Brown,
Eric Jacobson, and
Patrick Tuohy posted a time of 3:22.03.
Fordham's remaining scoring came from
Ryan Fahey,
Colin Flood, and
Alec Wargo. Fahey scored sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:28.98, while Flood was also sixth in the 1,500 meters in a season-best time of 3:54.38. Wargo was sixth in the hammer throw with a season-best throw of 144' 8 ½".
The Rams are next in action at the Penn Relays, which are April 28-30 in Philadelphia.
