Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham softball (19-17, 8-6) heads upstate for a doubleheader at Army (15-23, 6-1 Patriot League) on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m.

Both games will be streamed on ESPN+ but have different links, plus live stats, all of which can be found on the schedule page above.

Lace Up For Pediatric Cancer
The Rams will lace up their cleats in gold on Wednesday and partner with the Go4theGoal Foundation to raise funds and awareness for children battling cancer in our community. Having a child with cancer is a huge financial burden for many families, and the pandemic has made their individual situations even more dire. Please help us show these kids and their families that they don't have to fight alone by making a donation to our page! All funds raised will be used to improve the lives of kids battling cancer by providing financial assistance, funding innovative research, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, and granting personal wishes. Please consider making a donation through our page.

NFCA Strike Out Cancer Day
Fordham softball partnered with StrikeOut Cancer last Friday with a specific goal of bringing awareness for Ovarian Cancer. Each year 22,000 women will be diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. To those women who currently battle this deadly disease, we stand with you. To those who have passed, and to those who have survived, we honor you. Specifically, we would like to recognize: Eileen Yoshinaka, aunt of Head Coach Melissa Inouye; Assunta Pacelli, great grandmother of Associate Head Coach, Jennifer Lapicki; and Frances H. Miller, grandmother of Devon Miller.

Military Appreciation Day
Saturday was Fordham's military appreciation day, honoring and celebrating the men and women who have fought for us and for our country and protect and serve us each and every day. Thank you so much for your sacrifice and all that you do to keep us safe!

Last Time Out
Saint Joseph's took two of three over the weekend at Bahoshy, but the Rams rebounded with an emphatic 8-0 walk-off run-rule victory in the series finale on Saturday, getting revenge on the previous two games' starters Emily Siler and Amanda Herr. In that one, Bailey Enoch tossed her first career shutout, striking out eight, while Rachel Hubertus powered her 14th home run of the year to walk it off. Read about it all here. Highlights from that win can be found here.

Series History vs. Army
The Black Knights lead the all-time series, 23-7, since 1987. Army has dominated for most of the rivalry but the Rams have won four of the last six contests dating back to 2014. That win, a 6-0 home victory, was the first meeting since 2004 and last since 2021 when the two schools met five times at Bahoshy Field, first in the season opener, a walk-off 5-4 win for Fordham, and then a four-game series exactly one year ago, split between the two schools, which you can read about here and here.

Bailey Enoch Named Pitcher of the Week
The sophomore earned her first career weekly award from the league by allowing just two unearned runs over 12 frames, striking out 10, in both of the Rams' wins last week, at Hofstra and against Saint Joseph's. This is now the fourth time in program history that three different student-athletes have earned Pitcher of the Week in the same season. Read all about her week here.

#Dinger Watch
With her walk-off bomb on Saturday, redshirt senior Rachel Hubertus is now up to 14 on the year, tied for 8th-most in a season already and easily leading the Atlantic 10 and 21st in all of Division I and 20th with 0.39 per game. She has started surging up the all-time list and is now solo fifth all-time, passing Katie Davis ('06) and Erin Fisher ('10), with 36. Meanwhile, Julia Martine, with nine, is right behind her and second, and Bailey Enoch, with six, sits in a tie for fourth in the A-10. Put together, the Rams are 40th nationally with 1.11 dingers per game.

Speed Kills
Graduate student Brianna Pinto is a perfect 22-for-22 in stolen base attempts this season after stealing four over the week, now sixth-most in a single campaign, and has been caught stealing just ONCE in her five-year career at Fordham, way back in April of her freshman season. She is now up to 82 for her career, nine more than the previous record set by Krystle Henry in 2007. Unsurprisingly, Pinto leads the Atlantic 10 on the basepaths, but nationally she sits 32nd in total steals and 36th with 0.56 thefts per contest.

Milestone Watch
Pinto became Fordham softball's all-time stolen base leader with her 74th career steal at home in the series finale against Rhode Island on March 27th. She is now up to 82 during her five seasons in the Bronx. Home runs aside, Hubertus is now just six RBIs away from joining that all-time top-10, as well, and has moved up to fourth all-time currently with a career .613 slugging percentage. The pair are also on pace to enter the top-10 for four-year batting average, as well, by season's end.

With her latest no-hitter, Devon Miller is now joint-seventh with nine career shutouts. She is also moving up the strikeout charts, now seventh with 288, and last Sunday moved into 10th all-time with 23 career victories, as well.

Hubertus, Miller Garner A-10 Weekly Awards
Two weeks ago, Hubertus earned her second career weekly accolade from the conference, while Miller picked up her fourth career Pitcher nod. Read about their weekends here.

Makenzie McGrath Named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week
The senior earned her first weekly league accolade on February 15 after picking up both of the team's wins opening weekend, one in her fifth career complete game and one in relief. Read all about her stellar performances here.

A-10 Preseason Poll
The Rams were predicted to finish second in the annual Atlantic 10 preseason coaches poll. Fordham garnered 71 points and three first-place votes, finishing just three points shy of last year's champions, George Washington, who received four first-place votes, and ahead of Saint Joseph's, who earned the final two first-place votes and 55 total points. Read about it here.

D1Softball.com's Top 150
Junior pitcher and reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Devon Miller was named by D1Softball.com as its 149th-best player in the country heading into the season. You can read about it here, though it is a subscription-based website.

Up Next
Fordham travels down to George Mason, the site of the 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship, for a three-game series this weekend. The Rams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. and a 1 p.m. Sunday series finale.
