NFCA Strike Out Cancer Day
Fordham softball is partnering with StrikeOut Cancer on Friday with a specific goal of bringing awareness for Ovarian Cancer. Each year 22,000 women will be diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. To those women who currently battle this deadly disease, we stand with you. To those who have passed, and to those who have survived, we honor you. Specifically, we would like to recognize, Eileen Yoshinaka, Aunt of Head Coach
Melissa Inouye; Assunta Pacelli, Great Grandmother of Associate Head Coach,
Jennifer Lapicki; and Frances H. Miller, Grandmother of
Devon Miller.
Â
Military Appreciation Day
Saturday will be Fordham's military appreciation day, honoring and celebrating the men and women who have fought for us and for our country and protect and serve us each and every day. Thank you so much for your sacrifice and all that you do to keep us safe!
Â
Last Time Out
Fordham traveled to nearby Hofstra and picked up a hard-earned 3-2 victory.
Bailey Enoch earned her fourth win with six-plus innings of two-run ball, both unearned, before
Makenzie McGrath picked up her third career save with a gutsy effort out of the pen with two runners on and nobody out in the seventh to preserve the one-run lead.
Amanda Carey halved the deficit in the second inning with a solo home run and, in the third, Fordham loaded the bases and scored a pair on an Enoch RBI single and a
Michaela Carter groundout. Read about it all

Â
Series History vs. Saint Joseph's
In one of Fordham's oldest rivalries, the Rams lead all-time 40-34 since entering the Atlantic 10 in 1996. The Hawks dominated the early portion of the series before Fordham began to turn the tide around the 2008 season. It's been back-and-forth over the last three seasons but most recently Saint Joseph's took three out of four at Bahoshy Field last Spring before the Rams got revenge in the opening game of the Atlantic 10 Championship, 7-3. Those regular season losses were the only three of Fordham's 2021 league season.

Redshirt senior
Rachel Hubertus is on an absolute tear in recent weeks, seeing a five-game home run streak ended last Wednesday but picked right back up last Saturday. She is now up to 13 on the year, tied for 10
th-most in a season already and easily leading the Atlantic 10 and 21
st in all of Division I and 14
th with 0.41 per game. She has started surging up the all-time list and is now tied for fifth all-time, alongside Katie Davis ('06) and Erin Fisher ('10), with 35. Meanwhile,
Julia Martine, with nine, is right behind her and second, and
Bailey Enoch, with six, sits in a tie for fourth in the A-10. Put together, the Rams are 36
th nationally with 1.19 dingers per game.
Â
Speed Kills
Graduate student
Brianna Pinto is a perfect 18-for-18 in stolen base attempts this season, 11
th-most in a single campaign, and has been caught stealing just ONCE in her five-year career at Fordham, way back in April of her freshman season. She is now up to 78 for her career, five more than the previous record set by Krystle Henry in 2007. Unsurprisingly, Pinto leads the Atlantic 10 on the basepaths, but nationally she sits 41
st in total steals and 36
th with 0.56 thefts per contest.
Â
Milestone Watch
Pinto became Fordham softball's all-time stolen base leader with her 74
th career steal at home in the series finale against Rhode Island on March 27
th. She is now up to 78 during her five seasons in the Bronx. Home runs aside, Hubertus is now just nine RBIs away from joining that all-time top-10, as well, and has moved up to fourth all-time currently with a career .618 slugging percentage. The pair are also on pace to enter the top-10 for four-year batting average, as well, by season's end.
Â
With her latest no-hitter,
Devon Miller is now joint-seventh with nine career shutouts. She is also moving up the strikeout charts, now seventh with 285, and last Sunday moved into 10
th all-time with 23 career victories, as well.
