Boston, Mass. – (March 6, 2022) – The 2022 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championship has come to a close at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Fordham Rams finished with a strong showing, tying for 17
th in the women's standings with 17 points, while the men tied for 26
th with 10 pts.
The Rams competed in seven finals on Sunday, starting with
Zalen Nelson in the finals of the 800 meters. He finished just off the podium and just short of a school record, as he ran 1:49.69, good for fourth place. The time was only .04 seconds off the Rams' school record.
Then in the finals of the 200-meter dash,
Kathryn Kelly posted a season-best time of 24.36 seconds to finish sixth overall.
4x800 Relay - Nelson, Jacobson, Brown & LaDuca
Next were the men's and women's 3,000-meter runs, where
Brandon Hall and
Germaine Harbaugh placed 16
th and 24
th overall respectively. Hall clocked in with a season-best mark of 8:14.19, while Harbaugh also had a season-best time at 9:58.35.
Fordham then had three relay finalists, starting with the women's 4x800 relay, where the Rams team of
Jilli Jones,
Mary Kathryn Underwood,
Taylor Mascetta, and
Helen Connolly took sixth in a season-best time of 9:03.27.
Next was the men's 4x800 relay, where Nelson,
Eric Jacobson,
Erik Brown, and
Jeremiah LaDuca took fourth overall in a season-best time of 7:30.23.
Lastly, it was the women's 4x400 relay on the track finishing with an exclamation point, as Kelly,
Dominique Valentine,
Ruby Avila, and
Kyla Hill scored fourth overall in a school record time of 3:46.56, breaking the previous mark of 3:47.40 in 2015 by Danielle Rowe, Merissa Wright, Kristen Stuart, and Titi Fagade.
