Boston, Mass. – (March 5, 2022) – The Fordham track & field team started its final weekend of the indoor season on Saturday at the 2022 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Rams showed out on day one, posting nine season-best performances, qualifying for five Sunday finals, and having five top 12 finishes.
Of the events that scored on Saturday, Fordham got a bronze medal performance from
Kathryn Kelly in the long jump event, placing third with a jump of 19' ½". Kelly also competed in the 200-meter dash, where she qualified for Sunday's final with a season-best time of 24.49 seconds.
Joining Kelly among Sunday qualifiers was
Zalen Nelson in the 800-meter run. He qualified third for Sunday with a season-best time of 1:50.19, while teammate
Jeremiah LaDuca just missed the Sunday final, placing tenth in a time of 1:50.42.

Fordham then qualified for three relay finals on Sunday. The women's 4x400 relay of Kelly,
Dominique Valentine,
Ruby Avila, and
Kyla Hill qualified fourth in a season-best time of 3:48.64, while the 4x800 relay of
Jilli Jones,
Mary Kathryn Underwood,
Taylor Mascetta, and
Helen Connolly qualified seventh in a season-best time of 9:05.34. Then the men's 4x800 relay of LaDuca,
Eric Jacobson,
Patrick Tuohy, and
Erik Brown qualified fourth for Sunday in a season-best time of 7:36.18.
Other women's competitors on Sunday included Hill in the 60-meter dash, as she made the semifinals with a time of 7.70 seconds, but then finished 11
th overall in 7.71 seconds. Connolly placed 17
th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.14, while
Bridget Alex was 20
th overall in the mile run with a season-best mark of 4:59.46.
On the men's side,
Antony Misko earned 11
th overall in the 500 meters, as he clocked a season-best time of 1:04.79, while
Steven Zucca finished 22
nd in the 5,000 meters with a season-best time of 14:36.91. The final men's event for Fordham on Saturday was the distance medley relay, where
Nathan Bezuneh, Misko,
Justin Lombardi, and
Rodolfo Sanchez placed 12
th in a season-best time of 10:08.29.
The Championships wrap up on Sunday with the five finals for the Rams, while also having
Brandon Hall and
Germaine Harbaugh in the 3,000-meter run.
