Stony Brook, N.Y. – (April 23, 2021) – The Fordham track & field team had its final tune-up meet prior to the Atlantic 10 Championship next weekend, as the Rams competed at the Wolfie Invitational, hosted by Stony Brook. No team scoring was kept.
The Rams took part in five women's events and seven men's events.
On the women's side, the Rams had two season-best performances, starting with
Michele Daye in the 400-meter dash, as she clocked in with a season-best time of 1:00.15, good for fifth overall.
Molly Mulvaney was seventh in the 400 meters at 1:01.58, followed by
Helen Connolly in eighth (1:01.60) and
Abigail Llach in ninth (1:02.26).
Then in the 800 meters,
Taylor Mascetta posted a season-best time of 2:20.03, good for fourth overall, just ahead of teammate
Jilli Jones, who grabbed fifth in 2:20.54.
Mary Kathryn Underwood was then next Ram across the line in seventh (2:21.82) with
Marin Bogulski in ninth (2:24.17).
Fordham also took part in the 1,500-meter run, as
Maddy Kopec won her heat in a time of 4:52.69, good for seventh overall, while
Maeve O'Connor placed 12
th (5:15.86).

In the field events,
Jade Dyer-Kennedy was third in the triple jump with a distance of 35' 3", with
Tara Coyne taking second in the high jump (4' 7 ¾").
Over on the men's side,
Zalen Nelson was the top finisher for the Rams in the running events, taking fourth in the 800 meters in the 1:52.76, ahead of teammates
Justin Lombardi (10
th – 1:57.18),
Sean Sullivan (12
th – 1:57.65), and
Jeremiah LaDuca (14
th – 2:00.40).
Then in the 400-meter dash,
Arthur Gooden Jr. was Fordham's top performer in seventh place in a time of 49.85 seconds, while
Erik Brown was eighth (50.74) and
Thomas Lewis was 10
th (51.15).
Fordham also had three runners in the 1,500 meters, led by
Will Whelan, who clocked in at 3:58.94, good for ninth, with
Colin Flood in 12
th (4:01.73) and
Daniel Asher in 13
th (4:02.10).
The Rams' last runner was
Robert LeFevre, who was sixth in the 100-meter dash (11.37) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (24.13).
Over in the field events,
Justin Rhee was the lone competitor, as he tied a season-best in the triple jump with a distance of 43' 11 ¼", good for second, while being fourth in the long jump (20' 9 ¾").
The Rams will now get ready for the Atlantic 10 Championship on May 1-2, held at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
