2022 Schedule Page

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham softball head coach Melissa Inouye has announced the Rams' 2022 schedule, complete with 52 total regular season contests, three preseason tournaments, and eight three-game Atlantic 10 series. All times below are Eastern Standard.

"We're very much looking forward to our upcoming 2022 season, but especially our preseason tournaments across the country as they will definitely help prepare us for conference play." Inouye said, "We are excited to travel this spring to some new places and compete against a variety of good teams from several conferences."

In the preseason alone, the Rams will take on teams from the Big 12, SEC, Big Sky, WAC, Sun Belt, C-USA, and Southland. In nonconference play once preseason tournaments are done, Fordham will play at or host schools from the Big East, CAA, NEC, MAAC, Patriot, America East and MAC. The Rams will also meet two of last year's NCAA Regional participants in George Washington and Manhattan.

Fordham will kick the campaign off the second week of February at Grand Canyon's Kick-Off Classic. The Rams will take on Weber State on February 11 at 3 p.m. and then the hosts that night at 10:15 p.m. The next day, they'll take on the Bears again at 12:30 p.m. and then Kansas at 5:30 p.m. before wrapping up play on Saturday against Northern Colorado at 11 a.m.

The next weekend, Fordham will travel to Conway, S.C. for the Battle at the Beach, hosted by Coastal Carolina. Fordham has identical Thursday and Friday, February 18-19, schedules, taking on South Carolina at 12:30 p.m. and then the hosts at 5:30 p.m. before finishing with Marshall on Saturday at 10 a.m. The final preseason tournament will be the Boerner Invitational, hosted by UT Arlington. The Rams will play Northwestern State on March 4 at 11:30 p.m. and the host Mavericks five hours later, plus Texas-San Antonio on Friday at 11:30 a.m. The final two games are TBD based on results.

Fordham's home opener will be on Tuesday, March 9, at 3 p.m. against Wagner, a one-off contest with the Seahawks before opening up Atlantic 10 play at Bahoshy Field on March 12-13 against Saint Louis with both days beginning at noon. Three days later, Stony Brook will come to the Bronx for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. The Rams' first league road trip is the following weekend at George Washington with a doubleheader on March 19 at 1 p.m. and the series finale at noon the next day.

The Rams return home to host Lehigh for a Tuesday doubleheader on March 23 at 2 p.m. and then welcome Rhode Island for three games on Friday and Saturday. Before heading up to Massachusetts for a three-game series on April 2-3, the Rams will also host Coach Inouye's former school, Iona, on March 30 at 3 p.m. Fordham will return to the Bronx but to play a doubleheader at crosstown rival Manhattan on Tuesday, April 6 beginning at 1 p.m.

Fordham will next host Kent State on its league bye weekend for an April 9 doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. and then travel to Hofstra on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Rams will host Saint Joseph's for three games on April 15-16, travel to Army on Tuesday, April 20, at 3 p.m., and play at George Mason on the 23rd and 24th.

Nonconference action will wrap up under the Bahoshy Field lights against crosstown rival St. John's at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27. Fordham will then play three games at St. Bonaventure on April 30 and May 1 and then host Dayton on May 7-8 to close the regular season. The 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship will take place May 11-14 in Fairfax, Va., hosted by George Mason.

The Rams saw a stretch of seven consecutive Atlantic 10 championships snapped last Spring. Fordham earned the #2 seed after finishing the conference season with a 17-3 record, posting a 37-10 overall record by year's end. Devon Miller became the eighth Ram to earn A-10 Rookie of the Year honors, also garnering First Team All-Conference accolades, with Sarah Taffet and Brianna Pinto being named to the Second Team and Bella Ayala and Bailey Enoch landing on the All-Rookie team. The quarter of Miller, Pinto, Madie Aughinbaugh, and Rachel Hubertus all were selected to the NFCA All-Region Third Team, as well.

In the classroom, a program-record 13 Rams also earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors, with Aughinbaugh also garnering A-10 All-Academic and both Hubertus and Pinto earning CoSIDA Academic All-District.

Fordham saw Aughinbaugh, one of the program's top pitchers and two-way players, graduate among five total, but return every other starter from a year ago, with five freshman joining the program for the season. Coach Inouye, who received a contract extension, also added former Holy Cross head coach Jennifer Lapicki as her associate head coach.
