Softball Opens NCAA Regional Play on Friday

Rams to face fifth-seed Arkansas on ESPN+

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham softball team travels to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete in the 2026 NCAA Fayetteville Softball Regional to be held at Bogle Park beginning on Friday, May 15. Fordham opens play on Friday against the host school, the University of Arkansas, at 5:30 p.m. (EDT).
 
Fordham enter the regional with a 27-26 overall record while Arkansas is 42-11 on the year. The two other teams in the regional are Washington (36-18) and South Florida (42-15).
 
GAME COVERAGE SERIES HISTORY
  • Arkansas leads the all-time series with Fordham, 4-0.
  • The two teams met twice in the NCAA Regionals, both coming in 2013 at the Norman Regional.
  • The Rams are 7-20 all-time in NCAA Regional action 
NOTES
  • This will be Fordham's eleventh appearance in the NCAA Championships, the first since 2022. Fordham has also faced Arkansas in the NCAAs, falling to the Razorbacks twice in the 2013 Norman Regional.
  • Overall Fordham is 0-4 all-time against Arkansas, most recently falling to the Razorbacks, 4-2, in the 2018 Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.
  • The Rams have also faced Washington and South Florida in the past. The Rams are 0-2 all-time versus Washington, most recently falling to the Huskies in the 2019 Seattle Regional, and 3-6 against the Bulls, the most recent matchup coming in 2018.
  • Senior outfielder Neleh Nogay has 251 career hits, tying her for third on the Fordham career hits list with Allison Twarowski, and five behind Jamie LaBovick for second.
  • Nogay leads the Atlantic 10 this year with 69 hits and is tops in the conference with a .390 batting average.
  • Nogay has hit safely in ten of the last eleven games and has scored at least one run in ten of the past eleven
  • Nogay's .373 career batting average would be a school record (current record is her .367 career average entering this year).
  • Nogay is second in the A-10 and eighth in the nation with 34 stolen bases on the year, while she ranks sixth nationally with 0.64 stolen bases per game.
  • Nogay holds the Fordham record for career stolen bases with 117 after breaking the previous mark of 85 earlier this season. She became just the sixth active player in all of Division I softball with 100 career steals, reaching triple digits against Army on Mar. 25.
  • Victoria Klimaszewski, the 2026 A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, is hitting .325 (27-83) with four doubles, four home runs and 20 RBI on the year.
  • Klimaszewski has hit safely in seven of her last eight games and finished the Atlantic 10 Championship 5-for-10 with two home runs and eight RBI in the four games.
  • Olivia Simcoe is third in the A-10 with a 1.23 WHIP, tossing the third most innings of any conference pitcher with 134.2 this season.
  • Simcoe leads the conference with 12 complete games and is third with 12 wins.
  • Sydney May is second in the A-10 with four saves.
  • Kate McGuire leads all hitters in the A-10 at two-base hits, posting 15 doubles on the year.
  • Fordham is second in the Atlantic 10 in fielding percent (.971) and leads the conference with 0.49 double plays/game.
  • The Ram offense leads the league with 424 hits as a team, with seven different Rams posting 30 or more hits individually, and they lead the league with a .289 team batting average.
What's Next?
  • The winners of Friday's contests will meet in Saturday's first game while the two losers will play in the second game. The winner of the latter will meet the loser of the former in Saturday's third game. The Regional Final will be held on Sunday.
