April 13, 2013 – It was about as close of a team finish as one can get.  However, the Fordham men's track and field team found a way and captured the 2013 Metropolitan Outdoor Championship by a slim two-point margin down in Ramapo, N.J.  It was the third MET Championship for the Rams over a six-year stretch (2008 & 2009).

Fordham won the men's team title with 167 points, just squeaking by Southern Connecticut State, who finished with 165 points.

On the women's side, the Rams placed second with 110 points, behind only St. John's, who won the team title with 157 points.  It matched their best finish ever at the MET Championship, as the Rams also placed second in 2008 and 2009.

Fordham had two multi-event winners at the Championship in Jonathan Annelli and Anisa Arsenault.  Annelli took gold in the 5000m in 15:19.35 and 3000m steeplechase in a season-best time of 9:24.60, while Arsenault won the 5000m in 17:49.24 and the 10,000m in 37:33.50.

The Fordham men had four other event winners with Kevin Fitzgerald winning the 800m in a time of 1:52.12, Quincy O'Connor taking the 10,000m in 32:47.90, Sean Collins placing first in the 400m hurdles in 53.43, and Sam Houston winning the decathlon with 6,025 points.

Besides Arsenault, the Fordham women had two other individual event winners with Titi Fagade taking the 800m in a time of 2:13.29 and Mara Lieberman grabbing the 1500m in a season-best time of 4:40.16. Fordham's 4x800 relay team of Melissa Higgins, Jillian Brooks, Danielle Rowe and Lieberman also won their event in a time of 9:12.94

Nate Lang rips a hit at Shea Stadium.

April 13, 2000 – The Fordham baseball team has seen action all over the country and played in a number of famous venues, including the original Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds.  In 2000, the Rams added another professional stadium to the list, playing its only game at Shea Stadium, when they faced off with St. John's.

Though the game did not finish in Fordham's favor, an 11-0 loss to the Red Storm, it still gave a unique experience to a relatively young team, as nine of the 14 players that saw action were either freshmen or sophomores.

Freshman Jon Volosin led the offense, going 2-for-4, while Nate Lang was 1-for-3 with a double and Justin Walker had a hit and a stolen base.  James Cisco had the last hit for the Rams.  On the hill, Kris Kozlowski and Bryan Kelly each had three strikeouts over two innings each.
