Men’s Track & Field Finishes Fifth at A-10 Championship

Misko, LaDuca, Strzelinkski & Reardon Earn Medals on Day Two of Championship

Kingston, R.I. – (March 1, 2020) – The 2020 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championship has come to a close at the Mackal Fieldhouse in Kingston, R.I.
 
Rhode Island won the men's team championship with 180 points, just ahead of George Mason with 168.  VCU was third with 102 points, followed by Davidson (63), Fordham (61), Massachusetts (58), La Salle, (49), Saint Joseph's (44), Saint Louis (41), and George Washington (14).
 
Fordham had four medal winners on day two of the championship, led by Antony Misko, who took second in the 500 meters in 1:04.99 to earn Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. 
 
The Rams then had three bronze medalists, beginning with Nikolas Reardon, who grabbed third in the high jump with an IC4A qualifying height of 6' 8 ¾".  He also scored sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 45' 6 ½".

Then in the 800 meters, Jeremiah DeLuca took third place for a bronze medal in 1:57.49, while Christopher Strzelinski matched his time from Saturday to grab third and a bronze in the 1,000 meters in 2:30.30.
 
The Rams scored in four other events, including both relays on Sunday.  In the 3,000 meter run, Nicholas Raefski placed sixth in 8:31.78, while Brandon Hall scored eighth in 8:33.21.  Colin Flood was also 18th in the event at 8:47.09.
 
Andrew Byrne was the other individual scorer, as he ended up seventh in the heptathlon with 4,245 points, while teammate Jeremy Milite was 12th at 3,715 points.
 
In the relays, the 4x400 relay of Kyle Mack, Erik Brown, Misko, and Arthur Gooden Jr. placed fourth in 3:20.84, while Zalen Nelson, Sean Sullivan, LaDuca, and Strzelinski registered a seventh place finish in the 4x800 relay in 7:49.26.
 
The Rams also had competitors in the mile run and the shot put on Sunday.  Ryan Kutch was the top finisher in the mile run in 4:27.15, taking 16th, followed by Patrick Tuohy (18th – 4:30.69) and Patrick Donahue (19th – 4:31.94).  Alec Wargo wa then 16th in the shot put with a distance of 38' 1 ½".
 
The Rams conclude the indoor season on March 7-8 at the ECAC/IC4A Championship in Boston.
