Boston, Mass. – (February 15, 2020) – The Fordham track & field team completed action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center. Day two saw the men take center stage, while the women wrapped up competition with the distance medley relay.
The Fordham women ended up posting a season-best time of 12:09.63 in the distance medley relay for their final event, as Sydney Snow, Dominique Valentine, Helen Connolly, and Bridget Alex placed 12
th overall.
On the men's side,
Nikolas Reardon had a pair of top 15 finishes to lead the way for Fordham, tying for fourth in the high jump, clearing 6' 6 ¾", while being 12
th in the long jump at 22' 9".
Andrew Byrne also took part in the field events, tying for 32
nd in the pole vault, clearing 12' 9 ½".
In the track events, the day started with
Colin Flood placing sixth in the 3,000 meter unseeded run in 8:33.78, with
Nick Lundberg clocking in at 8:54.64 (83
rd).
Next in the 800 meters,
Jeremiah LaDuca and
Christopher Strzelinski both qualified for the IC4A Championship, as five Rams took part in the event. LaDuca ran a season-best time of 1:53.07, good for 41
st, while Strzelinski had a time of 1:53.36, which was 46
th overall.
Zalen Nelson was next across the line in 1:54.86 (78
th), followed by
Erik Brown in 1:55.72 (105
th) and
Arthur Gooden Jr. in 1:58.26 (174
th).

Antony Misko took 27th in the 400 meter dash in an IC4A qualifying time of 48.89 seconds, while
Kyle Mack finished 26
th overall in the 500 meter run in 1:06.30, with
Robert LeFevre and
Michael Capone competing in both the 60 and 200 meter dashes. Capone was 41
st in the 60 meters (7.28) and 91
st in the 200 meters (22.62), while LeFevre recorded times of 7.36 in the 60 (54
th) and 23.13 in the 200 (145
th).
Will Whelan was the next IC4A qualifier for the Rams, as he registered a time of 2:28.60 in the 1,000 meter run, good for 32
nd, with
Patrick Tuohy taking 48
th in the event in 2:30.74. The mile run was the next event as
Sean Sullivan had a time of 4:18.57 (155
th) with
Jack Craven posting a time of 4:29.24 (288
th).
The final two events for the Rams were the 4x400 relay and the 3,000 meter run. Fordham's team of LaDuca, Brown, Whelan, and Tuohy finished 29
th in the 4x400 relay in 3:23.53, while the 3,000 meter run saw two IC4A times.
Nicholas Raefski had a career-best time of 8:15.03 (68
th), while
Brandon Hall was a new IC4A qualifier in 8:27.41 (130
th).
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action on Friday, February 21
st, as the Rams take part in the Armory College Last Chance meet at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York.
