Princeton, N.J. – (May 11, 2019) – Just a week after having a successful run at the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Fordham track & field teams began competition at the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday, held at Princeton University in New Jersey.
Through day one, the Fordham women are 14
th in the team standings with 12 points, while the men are in a tie for 23
rd with four points.
In the women's events,
Aidan Moroz had a fifth place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking in with a season-best time of 2:07.72, as did
Angelina Grebe in the 3,000 meters, as she posted a season-best time of 10:03.97.
Abigail Taylor closed out the scoring on day one with another fifth place finish in the 10,000 meters, finishing in 36:41.05.
The women's 4x100 relay of
Mary Kate Kenny,
Kathryn Kelly,
Sarinnagh Budris, and
Dominique Valentine, broke their own school record once again with a time of 46.96 seconds, which was good for ninth overall.
Nikolas Reardon
On the men's side,
Nikolas Reardon was the lone point getter for the Rams, placing fifth in the long jump event with a mark of 23' 7 ½". Teammate
Ryan McGraw took 11
th overall in the long jump at 21' 8 ¼".
In the 800 meters,
Louis Santelli was the top performer in 42
nd (1:56.39), while
Sean Sullivan was 48
th (1:57.30).
Christopher Strzelinski ran in the 1,500 meters, as he was 26
th overall in 3:55.97, while
Nicholas Raefski was 31
st in the 5,000 meters in 16:42.24.
Fordham will finish up at the ECAC/IC4A Championship on Sunday, with competitors in the women's 100 and 200 meter dash, as well as the men's and women's 4x800 relay.
