Lawrenceville, N.J. – (March 30, 2019) – As some member of the Fordham track & field team were in Raleigh, North Carolina, the rest of the squad took part in Saturday's Rider 5-Way Invitational in New Jersey. The Fordham men ended up third out of six teams, while the women were fifth out of five teams.
On the men's side, Fordham was led by
Nikolas Reardon, who scored in both the long jump and high jump events. He finished second in the long jump with a mark of 22' 11 ¼", which was just shy of an IC4A qualifying mark, while grabbing third in the high jump, clearing 6' 2 ¼".
Aside from Reardon, the Rams had a number of scorers in the field events for the men.
Ryan McGraw scored twice, placing fourth in the long jump (21' 11 ¾") and fifth in the triple jump (40'11"), as did
Alec Wargo, taking sixth in the hammer throw (131' 6 ½") and seventh in the discus throw (113' 11 ½").
Ray Rainville and
Andrew Byrne closed out the field event scoring, as Rainville was sixth in the javelin throw (158' 4") with Byrne in second for the pole vault, clearing 12' 11 ½".
In the track events, Fordham had eight scorers, highlighted by
Brandon Hall placing second in the 3,000 meter run in 8:45.28.
After scoring in the pole vault, Byrne was fourth in the 110 meter hurdles at 19.14 seconds, while
Connor McKeown was third in 18.77 seconds.
Chase Krug also scored in the hurdles, as he was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles at 57.06 seconds.

Other scorers included
Jordan Allen in the 200 meter dash (5
th - 22.63),
Sean Sullivan in the 800 meters (5
th – 1:54.61),
Michael Capone in the 100 meter dash (7
th – 11.48),
Jack Keegan in the 400 meter dash (8
th - 50.07).
In the relays, the 4x100 relay was fourth in 42.80 seconds, while the 4x400 relay was seventh in 3:30.21.
On the women's side, the day was highlighted by a 1-2 finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, as
Sydney Snow won the event in 11:33.37 with
Sarah Daniels right behind her in second at 11:36.62. The Rams also had a field event win with
Sophia Jagoe-Seidl taking first in the javelin throw with a distance of 123' 3".
Fordham had seven other scorers in the track events, led by
Kate McCormack, who was fourth in the 1,500 meters at 4:49.63, with teammate
Bridget Alex placing seventh in the same event at 4:58.08. The Rams two scorers in the 800 meter run as well with
Helen Connolly in sixth (2:23.85) and
Dominique Valentine in seventh (2:24.45).
Other scorers included
Kelley Abunaw in the 100 meter dash (6
th – 13.02),
Dana Beggins in the 400 meter dash (8
th – 1:01.98), and
Gabrielle Schreib in the 400 meter hurdles (5
th – 1:06.87).
In the relays, the 4x400 relay placed third in 4:01.11, while the 4x100 relay was fourth in 53.42 seconds.
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action at the Colonial Relays from April 4-6.
