Staten Island, N.Y. – The Fordham track and field teams opened the 2018-19 season at the Ocean Breeze Opener in Staten Island on Saturday and senior
Mary Kate Kenny got off to a blistering start, setting two school records on the day.
Kenny broke her own school record in the 60 meters, finishing first among Division 1 participants in an ECAC qualifying time of 7.67 seconds, besting her previous mark of 7.68, and she set a new record in the 200 meters, finishing first in 24.68, besting last year's mark of 25.07.
Top individual performers in Division 1 on the women's side included

th – 7.86) in the 60 meters,

th – 26.34) in the 200 meters.
In the field events,
Jade Dyer-Kennedy finished eighth in the long jump at 5.01m, followed by
Mary Kate Caucci (10
th – 4.92m) and
Dianna Juechter (17
th – 4.26m).
Casey Metzler finished 15
th in the shot put at 8.87m and 11
th in the weight throw at 11.32m. In the triple jump, Dyer Kennedy led the way for the Rams finishing fourth at 11.12m, Caucci took eighth at 9.60m and Juechter placed tenth at 9.12m.
On the men's side in Division 1,
Arthur Gooden Jr. led the way for the Rams, finishing fourth in the 500 meters in an IC4A qualifying time of 1:04.64. Other top individual performers included

th – 7.18) and Andre Guthrie Jr. (11
th - 7.23) in the 60 meter dash, John Keegan (9

th – 2:41.44) in the 1,000 meters and Capone (2

rd – 22.69) in the 200 meters.
In the field,
Nikolas Reardon finished third in the long jump at 6.74m, followed by
Ryan McGraw (13
th – 6.23m),
Connor McKeown (T17
th – 5.91m),
Andrew Byrne (T17
th – 5.91m) and
Jeremy Milite (21
st – 5.45m). Also competing were
Alec Wargo (13
th – 11.33m) and
John Regan (14
th – 10.97m) in the weight throw and Reardon (T1
st – 1.89m) and Byrne (T3
rd – 1.84m) in the high jump. In the triple jump, Reardon finished sixth among Division 1 performers at 13.50m, followed by McGraw (9
th - 12.63m) and
Connor Burke (10
th - 12.00m).
The Rams return to action Friday December 7 as they host the Fordham Season Opener at the Lombardi Center Field House. Events are set to begin at 2 p.m.
