The Fordham Men's Cross Country team got off to a good start in their season opener at the 36^th annual Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial XC Meet on Saturday morning with a combined score of 45 good for a 2^nd place finish, while the women finished 3^rd in the 5K.

Fordham junior Brian Cook won the individual race with a time of 24:50.83. Ryan Kutch and Thomas Slattery rounded out the top five finishing 4^th and 5^th with times of 25:08.15 and 25:12.01 respectively. Junior Nik O'Brien came in 15^th with a time of 26:15.02, seniors Devin Rocks and Ryan McGann finished with times of 27:06.19 and 27:20.81 respectively while sophomores Jerome Vessichio and Sean Sullivan finished with times of 27:44.91 and 27:54.40 of their own.

Yale (27) finished first followed by Fordham (45), Manhattan (62), NJIT (133), St. Francis (139), Farleigh Dickinson (162) and John Jay (206) amongst Division I schools.

For the women, Fordham was led by sophomore Angelina Grebe who finished 2^nd overall out of all runners with a time of 19.09.86. Senior Cristina Ulto finished 14^th with a time of 19:47.44. Senior Shanna Heaney finished 21^st (19:58.83), junior Brynna Harum 22^nd (20:01.70), freshman Sydney Snow 23^rd (20:03.55), sophomore Kate McCormack 24th (20:05.48), sophomore Abigail Taylor 25th (20:07.97), junior Stephanie Leo 26th (20:08.69) and freshman Olivia Gaudet 27^th (20:09.64).

Yale (44) finished first followed by Monmouth (57), Fordham (70), Manhattan (120), Princeton (138), St. John's (152), St. Francis (211), N.J.I.T. (236) and Fairleigh Dickinson (249) amongst Division I schools.

Fordham returns to action on September 16 at the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown in Boston, Mass. Races begin at 2pm.
