Cross Country Takes Part in ECAC/IC4A Championship

Fordham Men Finish Eighth in the Team Standings; Women in 16th

Bronx, N.Y. – (October 17, 2025) – The Fordham cross country team hit the second leg of its championship schedule on Friday morning, competing in the 2025 ECAC/IC4A Cross Country Championship, held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
 
The Rams ran well with the men's team placing eighth out of 22 teams, their highest finish since 2021, while the women were 16th out of 25 teams.
 
ECAC CHAMPIONSHIP
  • Brown University won the ECAC Championship for the women with a team score of 81 points, just in front of Bucknell at 83.
  • Fordham totaled 407 points to finish 16th in the team standings.
  • Jodie Pierce was Fordham's top runner in 30th place, running 22:06.7 over the 6K course, followed by Meredith Gotzman in 46th at 22:26.7.
  • Cate Roche ran a personal-best time of 23:11.1 over the 6K distance, which was 113th overall, with Alexis Smith (136th – 23:33.31), Lauren Raimy (145th – 23:46.6), and Quincy Biddle (156th – 23:59.6) as the next Rams across the finish line.
  • The remaining Fordham runners included Marisa House (197th – 24:56.5), Madison Collins (202nd – 25:15.2), and Ciara McGroary (203rd – 25:16.2).
 
IC4A CHAMPIONSHIP
  • Northeastern University took the IC4A Championship crown with 58 points, followed by Saint Joseph's in second with 83.
  • Fordham had its best team finish since 2021, placing eighth with a score of 203 points.
  • Fordham runners Bradford Duchesne and Sean Reidy both cracked the top 20 individually with personal-best times.Duchesne was ninth overall in 24:37.6 over the 8K course with Reidy in 19th at 24:54.8.
  • Jack Boerger was the next Ram across the line in 45th at 25:24.6, followed in by James Stappenbeck (52nd – 25:29.1), Darren Croke (82nd – 25:55.5), and Tadael Mihret (89th – 26:00.4)
  • Nicolas Grabarz headed up the next group of Fordham finishers in 101st (26:13.0), along with Jimmy Herandez (103rd – 26:13.9), Daniel DiTunno (108th – 26:17.7), John Corrigan (113th – 26:18.9), and Matthew Febles (125th – 26:27.2).
  • The Rams' remaining runners included Matthew McCabe (149th – 26:43.9), Eric Schleif (169th – 26:58.9), Anan Bauman (170th – 26:59.3), Matthew McDevitt (181st – 27:11.9), and Will Spierdowis (218th – 28:41.2).

  • The Rams hit the final part of the championship season on Saturday, November 1st, at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course in Cedarville, Ohio.
